From raising funds for various charitable causes to getting our hands dirty in our own communities, we are committed to giving back.
We offer a number of fun volunteer initiatives and contests throughout the year that allow our employees and partners the opportunity to make a real difference in our communities.
Adopt A Class
Adopt A Class is a program that connects businesses and civic groups, as mentors, with students in schools with high percentages of poverty. Serving students Pre-K through 8th grade, the program exposes students to a range of experiences and careers, while sparking a culture of teamwork among mentors.
We have proudly partnered with AAC for years, mentoring two special needs classrooms at a neighboring elementary school near our Cincinnati office. Our AAC mentors interact with students through weekly visits, planned activities, and pen‐pal letters. We help our students build communication skills and open doors for them to discover new things.
Cincinnati Parks Mayor’s Corporate Challenge
Since 2007, thousands of employees from numerous companies have served the urban parks and green space areas as well as the downtown Cincinnati area, including Washington Park in Over-The-Rhine, the waterfront parks, Smale Riverfront Park, Eden Park and more! Volunteers come from corporations such as GE Aviation, Duke Energy, PNC Bank, Kao USA Inc., Fifth Third Bank, U.S. Bank, and many, many more to dig in, clean up downtown, and make a big difference!

Light the Night (The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society)
Each year we help raise funds and walk as a team in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Their mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
Freestore Foodbank
The Freestore Foodbank team is comprised of more than 100 employees working together to solve hunger. With one in six neighbors in our Tri-State area at at risk of hunger, we are dedicated to addressing the need. We provide 27 million meals each year in 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Rubber Duck Regatta
Buy a duck, feed a child, win a prize! We are a proud supporter of the Freestore FoodBank’s Annual Rubber Duck Regatta. This event takes place over Labor Day weekend prior to the Western & Southern/WEBN fireworks. That afternoon, as many as 200,000 ducks will swim in the Ohio River near the Serpentine Wall.
The Mayerson Distribution Center
More than 80,000 children living in the 20 counties served by Freestore Foodbank are food insecure, meaning they aren’t always sure where they will get their next meal. Volunteers at the Freestore Foodbank Mayerson Distribution Center work to put together food power packs for children, families, and seniors in need.
Back On Track Clothing Donation
Clothing is a life necessity, but not something everyone can easily afford for themselves and their families. To help create stability and further self-reliance, Freestore Food Bank offers the Back on Track program. This program provides free clothing to their customers as they prepare for job interviews and training as well as providing emergency clothing for men, women and children.

Dress for Success
Dress for Success helps women achieve self-sufficiency and to care for themselves, their families and their communities.
Donations of women’s new or nearly new clothing, shoes and accessories keep this program going. Interview and work appropriate items support their Suiting Program, helping women dress to get a job and be successful in the workplace.

Hoxworth Blood Drive
Every day, 300 blood donors and 40 platelet donors are needed to help save lives in our local community.
